Northwest Indiana Military Resource Network
The Northwest Indiana Military Resource Network (NWIMRN) is a committee of local and state agencies dedicated to promoting awareness of the needs of service members and their families.
The NWIMRN is a collaboration of organizations centered in Lake County and surrounding communities. Their mission is to build awareness of the issues affecting veterans, military personnel and their families. Since 9-11-2001, Indiana has supplied military personnel, many from our National Guard and Reserve forces, in the efforts of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. The National Guard and Reserves serve on a part-time basis in the military. However, when called to duty, these brave men and women deploy in efforts around the world for up to eighteen months at a time. During this time, their families remain in our communities.
